It was a huge privilege to care for our Ellie in her golden years. She taught me so much....... Ellie 24/08/2007-17/02/2025
Launched in March 2025.... The golden years of a dog can be a vulnerable time and there are many ways an owner can help including massage, exercise sessions and enrichment.
Sadly 80% of dogs aged 8 years old and over will be suffering with arthritis. As a dog ages changes happen such asloss of muscle mass (sarcopenia)muscle fibres and ligaments start to shorten causing lessflexibility in the jointscartilage in the joints becomes thinner.
Dogs are very good at hiding pain and we miss so many signs. Chronic pain (which is defined as pain lasting over three months) can dramatically impact the quality of their lives. Research has shown that chronic pain changes the brain by reducing the area which controls learning, attention, thought processes, memory, coordination and motor control. Pain receptors within the body become more sensitive which can cause anxiety (a very debilitating condition affecting dogs in exactly the same way as humans).
Learn some simple, gentle and effective exercises to help with stiffness and mobility in my sessions which are held on a regular basis. 1:1's also available.
